The Bioscience

Mitochondria are the powerhouses that energize the body's cells.

Our proprietary "MiSt Complex" has been developed to stimulate and energize mitochondria to alleviate common skin conditions.

Stimulating mitochondria production, particularly through the activation of cellular processes that support energy production (ATP) and overall cellular health, can have a positive effect on the skin and face in several ways. Mitochondria are the powerhouses of the cell, responsible for generating energy. When their function is enhanced, the skin can benefit in the following ways:

  1. Increased Skin Cell Renewal: Mitochondria are critical for cell function and regeneration. When mitochondrial activity is boosted, skin cells (like fibroblasts, which produce collagen and elastin) can work more efficiently, leading to faster skin renewal and healing. This can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time.

  2. Improved Skin Texture: Enhanced mitochondrial function can lead to the production of more collagen and elastin, proteins that provide structure and elasticity to the skin. This may help improve skin texture, making it look firmer, smoother, and more youthful.

  3. Better Skin Hydration: Mitochondria are involved in the processes that regulate the skin's moisture balance. With better mitochondrial function, the skin may retain moisture more effectively, helping to combat dryness and promoting a healthy, glowing complexion.

  4. Increased ATP Production: ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is the energy currency of the cell, and having more energy means the skin cells can perform their jobs better. This includes better metabolism of nutrients, enhanced detoxification, and more efficient response to environmental stressors like UV exposure or pollution.

  5. Reduced Inflammation: Mitochondrial dysfunction has been linked to inflammation in the skin, which can contribute to conditions like acne, rosacea, and other inflammatory skin disorders. Stimulating mitochondrial activity can help reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, leading to a calmer, clearer complexion.

  6. Anti-Aging Effects: By stimulating mitochondria, skin cells can better protect themselves against oxidative damage (which accelerates aging) and help combat signs of aging like sagging, dullness, and loss of elasticity. This could contribute to a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

  7. Enhanced Blood Flow: Mitochondria are involved in energy production for various cellular processes, including circulation. Stimulating their function can support better blood flow to the skin, providing more oxygen and nutrients to skin cells and giving your face a healthier, more radiant glow.

  8. Improved Skin Tone: With healthier mitochondria, there may be better regulation of melanin production, which could help with uneven skin tone, reducing pigmentation issues like sun spots, acne scars, and melasma.
